An asteroid weighing about 20 million tons could cause a devastating explosion that would level entire cities. It’s possible that Earth-grazers could hit Earth at a distance of a few kilometers.

While a majority of people are skeptical about public space travel, many are still enthusiastic about space tourism. Despite the high initial costs of shuttle operations, it is likely that public perception will change once space travel becomes cheaper and safer. Fortunately, more companies are looking into public space tourism, and this could be the perfect time to get involved. In addition to universities, non-profit organizations can help publicize space tourism as a viable career option.
